Requests for storing vehicles have been around for quite a while. My version has been added as an upgrade for Outfit Barracks and/or Headquarters, and has relations to the Urban Outpost, supply line, and rank salary concepts. An individual without an outfit or whose outfit has not purchased the vehicle storage upgrade, may still store a vehicle, but it will be something that has to be purchased with their 'salary.'

To store something in your garage, a player drives their vehicle up to a service silo and hits "G" as normal. They must select "Garage" and then may choose "Store Current Vehicle" or select and Delete a currently stored vehicle.

If you select to store the vehicle and you have room, the vehicle will immediately deconstruct, dismounting the driver and any passengers onboard. Storing a vehicle will save it's current loadout as well (any NTU powercells on board, however, will not be saved with the vehicle). Players will be able to store a minimum of 2 vehicles at a time.

Also, to store a vehicle, the territory they are in must be connected to the 'supply line' in some way and if at a base or outpost it must have power. Towers lose storing capability if their NTU level drops to 0% (since they do not have a generator).

To retrieve a vehicle, a player goes to any vehicle terminal at a facility or outpost, hits the G key as normal, then selects Garage. The player can then select a stored vehicle and hit 'Acquire' to spawn the vehicle as normal. No tech plant will be required to retrieve stored vehicles, only a supply line to a Capitol or to a linked warpgate.

*note=the deliverer is suppose to be an Aurora.

And also add favorites to the vehicle terminals, so that you can create a vehicle with a favorite loaded (like inf wraith loaded with lots of ACEs, ammo and a REK).

Welcome to the boards, SkyCry. :)

I thought about it, but on Ask the Devs last night, the developers said they didn't want to do that. They said that it would increase the time people would spend at a vehicle teriminal, that's why they put in the queue. To their mind, allowing manipulation of favorites at the terminal would prolong stays there again, and there's not too much room there for crowds. They also feel it's not so much a sacrifice to have you load your vehicle manually and then save that loadout at a silo/landing pad. *shrug*

After hearing that and thinking it over, I tend to agree. The more logical place, therefore, is to allow purchase of regular items from the Silo itself! Not many people hang out there and there's two to a base in contrast to just the one vehicle terminal.

Alright, so I'll see about working that compromise in as an enhanced Favorites section for the window that comes up when you're near a Silo.

By the way, if you'd like to start your own thread of ideas in the Wishlist, don't forget to sign up to the boards.

I have to say I really like this idea. How many times do you jack an enemy vehicle and then not able to save it. And would this feature also work at the silos of towers?

Yes, vehicle storage will work at tower silos, so long as:

A ) that tower is connected to your empire's virtual supply line (connected through adjacent territories/bases back to the Capitol or to a 'linked warpgate', not just any Broadcast Warpgate)

B ) and your outfit has purchased (with outfit credits) the 'vehicle storage' upgrade from their Outfit Barracks in sanc, or from their Outfit Headquarters on a continent,

C ) or (if your outfit has not purchased the upgrade or you belong to no outfit) a player may use their 'rank salary' to buy storage for their vehicle, pending the fulfillment of requirement A.

Bases work in much the same way, the storing ability must be 'purchased' in some way for it to be available. The difference is that bases can use the lattice as their connection to the supply line in addition to adjacent zones. Ergo, a base may be completely surrounded by enemy territories, but because it's linked (presumably) to another base or directly back to a supplied base, it's supply remains intact.

Why then in the Test server can I save my BFR in exactly that manner?

I load up my bfr, take it out and park it for a moment, run into the base, load up my bfr trunk with goodies, then walk over to the repair terminal, finish configuring the weapons and save the whole thing to a favorite. I have each of my BFR varients saved with extra glue, glue gun, spare gun and a med & bank tool.

If I do the same thing with a mossie or other vehicle, would that work?

I wonder if you could access the Garage on foot, through the Vehicle Pad.

Actually, no that's not currently possible. You still can't purchase regular items (like an REK, repair juice, MA ammo) directly from Vehicle Repair Silo, which is what I was refering to in the thread...making that now possible.

Also, on live you can already do what you just mentioned: grabbing goodies from an equpment terminal, putting it in vehicle, and saving it at silo. I already have vehicle loads saved with repair juice and whatnot on live for my galaxy and lodestars.

Well, yes, you retrieve your stored vehicles from the Vehicle Pad terminal. Or maybe I misunderstood what you were saying.

Ah I see.

Never occured to me to load up directly from the Vehicle pad like that. Only place I would DARE consider it would be the sanc. Anywhere else would be absolute suicide with reaver spam, snipers and amp wielding infils.

I really hope the devs reconsider. Being able to get Equipment terminal stuff from Silos and Pads would be great.

Hopefully they'll at least let us pick a trunk selection right off the terminal pad soon.

Exactly, which is why I would propose allowing players to load up on grunt equipment directly from the Repair Silo instead, while they are safely in their vehicle.

I like the garage idea, you cant really say much about that. I dont like the idea of loading up new infantry setups from inside a vehicle, whilst it seems right in theory what with the nanites and all it is more simplifying of a game that i think that should be going in the other direction. It doesnt take any time at all with the current setup in the game and terminals make a great place to set up for some infiltrator ambushing :D
