New Auraxian Lattice Suggestion

All warpgates used AND FIXED IN PLACE - only adjustment: Nexus Geowarpgate changed to an Island Warpgate.

Click here for a larger version!

Note that I'd like to see the following four fixes of caves along with this:

- Capital type shields around cave Redoubt/Module center (allowing you to spawn)

- Instant Action to caves

- Insta Warp to caves

- All tech allowed on all Battle Islands (no special rules - can always hold events here and for these events, deactivate ALL other island warpgates, switch them to randomly link Sancs directly to one island where an event occurs, meaning Empire entry points are randomised during an Island Event).

What I would like to see is a rotating lattice that changes every other week or so.

These days, I'd welcome any real change to the Lattice so we get rid of the stale fights that haunt PS.

The Devs switching up the Home Continents was nice for a few days, but didn't solve the problem.

I do think continental lattice requires attention before global lattice.

Re: New Auraxian Lattice Suggestion

Aye continental lattice needs some work as well. Already made some suggestions for those in a few other threads. (One version was the one with the Supply Depots in between bases, another with removal/repositioning of capitals).

This is probably easier though.

Beady responded positively to the lattice suggestion:

"Yup, I like this setup a lot. It's very symmetrical, and each empire gets their own "home battle island". I also like the fact that Nexus is in a central position; it opens a lot of goal-oriented scenarios since there's only one base on the island. I agree that in this setup, the battle islands would have to have their restrictions removed and be treated more as individual zones rather than 1/4 of the Oshur cluster.

The shared home continent thing is a little different, but it might play out well. There would definitely be a lot more ways to attack the opposing empires, so it wouldn't be Cyssorside all the time. Would probably want to remove capitol domes from the old home continents if it was set up this way though, otherwise the battles might become too restrictive around those continents. Also, I like the idea of dynamically linking all sancs to a single island for events, but with the shared home conts it would seriously restrict your empire's access to other continents while the event is going on. It would encourage people to join in on the event though, heh.

The continents could also be rotated easily, as you mentioned before, so long as islands rotated with islands and caverns with caverns. Possibly the one thing that would really need to be thought over is what would become of the benefits gained for achieving continent lock. Currently you get benefits for locking the Oshur cluster, Cyssor, Ishundar, Searhus, or both home continents of an opposing empire. That entire system would need to be changed to support this setup. We'd probably also have to reconsider how modules are spawned and whether or not to keep the current cavern lock benefit in play.

Easier access to the caverns would be nice, but I'm with the school of stronger pain fields in cavern spawns rather than having some special kind of shield."

Quite some more discussion on this in that thread. :)

i'd like to see the caves always open but the argument is that with not enough population there is no need to keep more than 2 randomly open.

Re: New Auraxian Lattice Suggestion

Figured I might as well make a version in the older Auraxian Map style. Note that the continents have shifted a bit.

The legenda is as follows:
  • White lines connect directly to Sanctuary or Home Cont Battle Islands.
  • Yellow lines connect between different continents
  • Green lines connect to Geowarps

And here's one if you want to mess with the lines and cont locations a bit for yourself.
