Core Combat Improvements

Current List to illustrate:
  • Warp directly from Broadcast warpgate (including Sanc gates) to linked Cavern gate
  • IFF Locks on doors
  • More map spawn points like surface towers
  • Double click on base to get status window
  • Random spawning on spawn pad rather than center
  • Allow heavy vehicles to spawn or don't allow heavy veh in
  • Align map properly

Warping directly to caves would be awesome, but I assume if it was easy to do it would have already been coded.

I really dont see it being that hard, just copy the coding for the normal warpgates, and change the destinations.

Cavern Facility Status Menus



More cavern Spawn Points, called here Outposts


Cavern buildings able to be Outfit Headquarters.

Some available upgrades:
  • Advanced IFF locks (longer door hacks on the IFF panels to be added to all doors);
  • Automatic Sentry Turrets (currently turrets are neutral, now any turret directly attached to the facility - or maybe within the sphere of influence - will belong to your empire and will auto fire on enemy vehicles).

Yeah, I uploaded that after midnight. Putting it all together only took a few hours because I'd already made the base menus from the previous updates.

Thanks, Dvidd. Now I just have to design an IFF interface for the doors and do mockup screens for broadcast warping into the caverns.

We could use a few more AT weapons and Vehicles. Again I am still trying to figure out what good is an AT Air Vehicle Terminal that seperates it from a regular Air Vehicle Terminal.

I think they intended to add more vehicles, aircraft, and weapons once the success of Core Combat became assured. When that didn't happen, the caverns took a backseat.

then they moved to Big Robots whitch i think mainly got flamed and died off about a few months even though some people still use them.

Why is everything being blaimed on Core Combat being unsucessful. Oh well, cant get them all I guess.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'everything'. It makes perfect sense that SOE would rather beef up the parts of Planetside that were successful and widely accepted than spend precious development time on content for a place that few players wish to go to.
