New Vehicle Variants (Reaver, Galaxy, and Sunderer)

I wanted to make some vehicles use the various MAX abilities, and I glanced at the polls for vehicle variants; so I thought up some cool ideas for some:

For the Terran Republic:

Galaxy Variant (Corsair):
The Corsair would, instead of transporting the normal Galaxy passenger load, transport 4 MAXes, 6 passengers, a Vehicle, and a Pilot. However, the MAX slots would be a platform type thing that the TR MAXes can anchor on once boarded (NOTE: Only TR MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Galaxy MAX slot). Once in flight, these platforms will extend, allowing the TR MAXes to fire their weaponry from the sides of the Corsair.

Sunderer Variant (Stalker):
The Stalker would, instead of tranporting the normal Sunderer passenger load, transport 4 MAXes, 4 passengers, and a Driver. However, the MAX slots would be a platform type thing that the TR MAXes can anchor to once boarded (NOTE: Only TR MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Sunderer MAX slot). Two platforms will then extend slightly outward to allow the TR MAXes to fire from the sides of the vehicle, and the other two TR MAXes would be brought to the roof of the vehicle via platform where they could fire infront and behind the Stalker.

Reaver Variant (Ravager):
The Ravager would, instead of having the normal Reaver weaponry, carry two (fairly inaccurate) 12 mm recoilless chainguns and a small rocket launcher on the belly. The rocket launcher would launch missiles equivalent to the Rocklet Rifle, but much slower. The idea is to spray the enemy with as much bullets as possible.

For the New Conglomerate:

Galaxy Variant (Hurricane):
The Hurricane would be able to transport the same passengers as the Galaxy, but would lack a tail gunner. However, the side gunner guns would be replaced by Gauss Cannons, and MAX slots would be able to draw energy from the NC MAX's Shields (NOTE: Only NC MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Galaxy MAX slot). Using this energy, it could slowly re-charge its shield, no matter where it is. However, this ability is only gained when an NC MAX enters the MAX passenger slot (the speed of the re-charge would double if there were 2 NC MAXes in the Hurricane).

Sunderer Variant (Sentinel):
The Sentinel would, instead of tranporting the normal Sunderer passenger load, transport 2 MAXes, 4 passengers, 2 gunners, and a driver. However, the MAX slots would be able to draw energy from the NC MAX's Shields (NOTE: Only NC MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Sunderer MAX slot). Using this energy, it could slowly re-charge its shield, no matter where it is. However, this ability is only gained when an NC MAX enters the MAX passenger slot (the speed of the re-charge would double if there were 2 NC MAXes in the Sentinel).

Reaver Variant (Tornado):
The Tornado would, instead of having the normal Reaver weaponry, carry two Guass Cannons on the sides and a rocket launcher on the belly.The Guass Cannons would be equivalent to the NC Guass Rifle (but more accurate) and the rocket launcher would launch missiles equivalent to the Hellfire Rockets on the Fury ATV. The idea is to blow the living crap out of the enemy with each shot.

For the Vanu Sovereingty:

Galaxy Variant (Nebula):
The Nebula would be able to transport the same passengers as the Galaxy, but would lack a Tail Gunner. While inside the Nebula, VS MAXes could use the spacebar to boost (NOTE: Only VS MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Galaxy MAX slot). The boost would be propelled out behind two openings in the Nebula, giving it two sets of afterburners. Or, they could press the action button while in flight. Doing so would open the door and eject them, where they would then fly alongside the aircraft attached to a tether cord that brings them fuel (while flying, they could bail like usual, and would auto-bail if it got to close to the ground). Pressing the action key another time would bring them back in.


Sunderer Variant (Flayer):
The Flayer would, instead of transporting the normal Sunderer passenger load, transport only 1 gunners, 5 passengers, 2 MAXes, and a driver. However, the normal gun would be replaced by a turret like the one on the VS Magrider, and it would be a hover vehicle (but a slowww one: like half the speed of the VS Magrider). Yes, it would be able to cross water (but it would go very, very, very slow). Also, while inside the new VS Sunderer variant, VS MAXes could use the spacebar to boost; but only if the vehicle was going on or above 50% top speed (NOTE: Only VS MAXes could use this ability; if the vehicle is jacked, other Empire's MAXes would use the slot like a normal Sunderer MAX slot). The boost would be propelled out behind the Flayer, giving it a significant speed boost.

Reaver Variant (Corona):
The Corona would, instead of having the normal Reaver weaponry, carry a duel-barreled anti-infantry chaingun laser on the left side and an anti-vehicle laser on the right. In addition, it would go slightly faster than the other variants. The anti-vehicle laser would fire lasers equivalent to the VS Lancer. The anti-infantry lasers would fire lasers which are equivalent to the VS Pulsar (but would be slightly more accurate). The idea is to have maximum versatility.

I would Like to see a smaller version of the galaxy. But with only defencive weapons. Like say.... 4 softies and 1 max. 1 top side gun and 1 tail gun. Topside gun has 360 pivot. Tailgun stays the same as normal lib tail.

Very interesting. lot's of interesting out of the box idea's especialy iwth the VS and TR one's, althoguh i feel the NC Sunderrrer and Galaxy are getting sort of jipped, althoguh mabye not.

i just had an idea for a common-pool sunderer variant: the minesweeper.

imagine a sunderer heading up a bridge assault convoy, tanks bfrs and troopers behind it... it would obviously need a hardxcore armor buff, though.

Sounds fun, but I'd make some sorta merit requirement for it. Cavalry Driver Gold?

Plus, what would keep it from being damned-near invicinble to other weapons, such as those 20 tanks waiting at the end of the bridge?

I dont like your Galaxy/Sunderer variants. Too complicated to implement and too little benefit...other than being a massive AA platform.

Your Reaver variants however...have at least a minimal hope of being implemented. But tbh and expansion on the Reaver should be a 2 person gunship (think AH-64 Apache)

Massive AA platform? Well maybe the TR one, but a lot of people could agree that TR AA isnt that fierce as-is currently. Plus, whats to stop IT from being shot down?

Did you just state that the horde of red and black stryker toters with the AA MAX King once you learn to properly shoot it have weak AA?

Also... I thought the devs mentioned they were making a common pool Galaxy varient...

Notice i only said MAXes. Infantry would stay inside as normal. And each MAX would have roughly a 90 degree covering, with no one being able to shoot directly behind thhe vehicle. And have you ever played as a TR mossie/reaver? VS and NC lock-on MAXES are a far bigger threat than the striker, not to mention the TR almost NEVER use AA MAXes.
