sounds interersting, if done correctly, could be great, but how long is minimum charge time? is it alomst instant, or say half of current time?

Pretty much instant, but very weak, IE, it wouldn't take out an AMS but might kill a few grunts standing (very) near it.

1.actually, currently enemies cant see the OS thing, unless you want to change that

Sounds good, lots of little instant OS's, or one big OMFGWFTpwnurwholebase OS not very often.

I've been having thoughts on this for a couple of weeks now as well, but I'm having difficulities with the way a timer would work with it.

You see, I would prefer to see three OS types (small(CR4), medium(CR5) and large(newbie)). Now, obviously using the medium one would start a three hour timer there after, but once that timer is used up, why on earth would you opt for a weaker/smaller one and be forced to use a medium/large one after a 2 hour wait?

One way around that issue would be to actually have an OS guage which will decrease with every use of an OS and recharges over a period of time.

This idea would obviously require the guage to be full in order to use the largest OS, but it would only need to be 3/4 full in order to use the medium one. The smaller one could be used twice on a full guage, but with a 10 minute reset timer.

You may feel that allowing someone to use two small OSes may be over powering, and that's certainly open to debate, but you have to remember that after doing so, they would have to wait 2 hours to use the small again, 3 for the medium and 4 for the large. Considering that two small OSes will not actually be as effective as one large, I feel that this would balance out.

How about you get a slider, that helps you set the diameter of the blast. But when you move the slider up, the time on the recharge goes up. So if you are a cr5 and you want to do a smaller, cr4 os, the timer won't be as long.

I think a few pre-set's on the cud of Orbital Srike "strength/blast radius" would be good, reducing/increasing the timer appropriatly.

To be honest, i think the timer on the OS should be increased as we have so many CR5's it's getting silly.
I myself am a CR5, and i would like to see it increased by at least an hour.

I also agree that global messages and the like should only be made by commanders with CUDS, but only if it's about there person (in there backpack etc), i wouldn't like to think everytime i sent out a message i'd have to whip out the CUD first.

Unless of course, CUD's become intregal to CR5's armour.
