We've all been wanting it, and Core Combat showed us the alien cities, now this will show us the human cities. Each capital would have it's own town/city/center around or under it, and would be mighty awesome...so the first will be:
--The Walled City Of Gunuku-- This has walls twice the height of a base, and shield gates that only enemy infantry can pass through. These gates can take a lot of beating, but are powered by the subcapitals; this means that when the sub caps are under enemy control, they slowly lose power and eventually shut down (Sieges, yay). In the center is the capital of Gunuku with it's glowing shield. =The regular grey buildings represent buildings of varying size and height, most have a stair well leading up. =The Pink buildings have a control consol, with IFF locks, these buildings are taller than the ones around it. =The green buildings have a control consol, with IFF locks, these buildings have med terms in them. =The light blue buildings have a control consol, with IFF locks, these buildings have equipment terminals in them, along with lockers. ----- --The Science Lab of Searhus-- The base of Oro use to be a huge science lab to study the movements of the Searhus volcano. Soon this lab was converted into a base, for the war. But, the remnants of the lab remain, with a maze of cooridoors and rooms extending thru much of the SOI. Many control consols to control parts of the lab remain. The lab also has many parts that have been caved in, one of the Largest rooms in the base caved in (which makes for good fighting). These rooms link from the far outside of Oro, all the way to the base. = Yellow squares are Places that lead to the overworld. =Green Squares are Huge rooms that have been caved in, good fighting. =Grey square is a spawn room, has just as many spawns, but the room is overall larger. ---- Think up some, and i might put them on the roster |

Great idea. It gives the defenders places to lay traps or ambushes before the enemy actually gets to the base. It also gives the invaders a chance to infiltrate the city to lay their own traps and prepair for the invassion.

These are great! I assume the Esamir and Hossin capitols would have city designs similar to Cyssor's, since those three capitols are on islands?
And what would we have on Forseral, or on the flat lands of Ishundar or Oshur? *sighs contentedly as he thinks of city fighting under the skies of Forseral* |

Yes, the port city of Voltan would be a joy to fight in. After fighting through the swamps, you will most likely need to make an amphibious landing or have ships firing from offshore to keep the defenders down. It would be sort of like that island that Alexander the Great captured. Sorry, I don't remember the island's name, but if you occasionally watch the History channel, they might show the program again.

It would be interesting if the urban areas had a type of sewer, water drianage, or service pipes underground that connect to certain buildings in mini networks dividing the city into sectors. The water drianage pipes would go to the nearest river or ocean coast. A sewer pipe would go to a form of treatment plant on the edge of the city next to the wall. Service pipes would by like a tree sprouting from utility buildings placed around the city at even intervals but never connecting to each other.
Adding pipe systems like these could help make a garrila war tactic easier to do and make it harder to completely control the entire area unless the Defending side has a lot of solders. The fewer solders the more weak points where the enemy can break in.

Added! The temple of the Vanu, notice the shape of the island...
Also the smaller circles are vanu towers, the squares are human towers. Vanu towers are different in that they spawn you in packs, instead of random times. |

anyway, fantastic ideas, but y are the vanu the only ones who get their own temple? Why couldn't the TR get something like, the TR Citadel, or the NC getting something like, the NC.... something. I don't know, I can't think of anything good right now maybe something like, the NC Fortress The TR Citadel ![]() _____ Key ------- Light Blue = Water Dark Blue = Large Bunker area, underground, with teleports to main tower Black around the Bunker = Defense Barriers Green = Foliage, and grass Yellow = shore Black Triangle = Main Tower Red = areas for landing of aircraft Black circles inside the red = Entrance Defence bunkers Black Lines in the red = entrance markers Brown= path __________ Details -------------- The island is very flat as far as terrain goes, not many trees, since the TR don't approve of nature The citadel is a two story, triangular building, with 3 entrances, the black area is where everyone spawns, and there are aircraft terms in there. The inside of the black triangle looks like a large triangular(duh!) control room, with the spawn tubes in the middle of the room. There are teleports to the bunker areas, but there are also stairs to the entrances and onto the red area. The entrance defence areas are for.... defending the control room against invaders. Bunker areas are covered areas, not unlike the bunkers outside many bases more later I'm working on art for the fortress but I really suck with MS paint so don't hold your breath last thought how about... each one of these areas is best suited for its designated empire the VS temple is easiest to defend for the Vanu, and so on. Like VS weapons used while inside the building do 1.5 as much damage or enemy weapons do half as much

here is my "Vanu sanctuary" dont tAke that name litterally just think of it more as a temple you can see a turret, some tree's and a big dome-shaped structure in the background, this is just a sample of vanu structures
i diden't make it purple because personoly i think the vanu were more white or grey colored. i'd like some opinions. if results are good i'll do some more ![]()

Only in clans/outfits have I ever seen anything resembling coordination and/or tactics from aircraft pilots. Which makes sense if they are on TS, but seriously, a pilot has no time to type out instrucions to anyone else, probably because they are about to get blown out of the sky. Maybe if each fortress had their own weakness, like the attackers could do something unusual, or had an unusual benefit. If the VS area is above water, then a good weakness would be the attackers could get aircraft at a signifigantly reduced respawn time. For the NC fortress, attackers get weapons that pierce shields, like a bolt driver that ignores a personal shield. For the TR fortress, attackers get higher armor to better cope with so many rapid fire weaponry shooting at them, or at least more durable, so it takes less damage per shot. Also, if the VS fortress was above water, then how would anything besides aircraft get onto it? There is no shore to drive a deliverer onto, so there would have to be mass hot-drops, and someone brings a lodestar with a AMS, but that would take too long, and the chances that something that big would get shot down imediatly are too high Interesting concept however. As far as themes (decoration wise) VS temple, mostly purple and green, has no sharp edges. Everything is very smooth and elongated, (like the covenant ships from Halo) Various glowing objects either on the side, or to use as cover for defense. NC has a tunnel network, for setting up ambushes, but also, underground there are large caverns with recreational stuff in them, such as a shooting range, but not like the VR shooting range, just a bunch of targets set up on the wall, that look incidentally like cardboard TR and VS soldiers that don't move. TR since it is militaristic, is pretty bare, but there are many signs promoting order, such as a large sign above doors saying things like : FOLLOW THE RULES, OBEY ONLY THE REPUBLIC, THE REPUBLIC PROTECTS YOU, stuff like that, (if youve ever played Anarchy Online, that might look familiar to you)

ostras, i fail to see how vanu sovereignty weapons would be more useful in an ancient vanu temple than NC or TR weapons?
the VS citadel could be put over water, (not floating, more like a good looking oil rig) but have bridges to the land encircling it...and you can nerf the aa ability (kinda) by having galaxy pads at each tower around it, giving the attacking troops a stream of gals, lodes, and mossies. But it will still be a hard fight. |

Maybe the NC "Citadel" should be what you said, being a bunker like thing (i'm thinking terrorist stuff). With many Corridors and room, for close combat, to bring out the true power of the JackHammer.
The TR "Citadel" should be a tall tower (think Saruman's Tower from "LOTR:The Two Towers"). We'll have to expand on that. |

no, it can be called a citadel no matter what it is.
Huge station over infinite abyss... maybe a space station. since space does sort of count as an infinite abyss. city would be rad, but too complicated. Huge bunker is a bit better, but don't you think that would be better for the NC? But it fits to have a tower, since the tower has TR in it? (stupid logic I know, but hey, what else is there for games) :unsure: hmmm. Maybe make all the empire areas like spacestations, instead of islands. Or even better the empire area is in a closed off area of each sides sanct the TR area is in the middle of the TR sanctuary, an island. Enemy soldiers can't get to the HART areas, they just teleport to the empire specific building.

Im all for urban areas, whether they be capturable "base" areas where the troops must capture specific or multiple buildings to take the "base" or just areas between the bases that must be travelled through to get to actual bases (ambush areas... **drools**),

They are still probably conducting experiments trying to get the wormhole back to earth open again for reinforcements. So they would be in a tall building because tall buildings are easier to conduct space-time continuem experiments from. (don't ask y) 3. Base-jumping :lol: 4. As somebody on these forums said a month or two ago:
VS Buildings: Surrounded by water (so our hover vehicles can cross, while your tanks have to go through specific, bottlenecked crossings). Lots of inaccessable places for our MAX armours to jump onto and rain fire down from, both inside and outside of the base. Plenty of medium sized corridors and rooms for our lashers to spam in and lancers to still have the range to stay back from the fight. Long range killing zones in the CY and around the bases, for the direct fire tank and BFR weapons TR Buildings: Lots of corners for your MAXs to lock down in and not have to worry about people getting behind them. Lots of long corridors for your MCG users to fill with lead. Medium range bottlenecks outside in the CY for your tank and BFR users to spam with shells and chaingun fire. NC Buildings: Small rooms and corridors, with lots of twists and turns, for your JH users to get as close as possible to the attackers. Thin short range CY areas, so that the attackers are packed in tight for your tanks and BFR users to shell and shotgun spam. Areas for Pheonix users to find cover in, yet still fire effectively out of the base at attackers. Personally I think the standard bases we have now fit the TR very well, as there are lots of alcoves for their MAXs to sit in, as well as medium range areas in the CY and coridors for the MCGs and stuff to be at perfect ranges for their use. VS buildings would be a lot more stretched out, especially vertically, so that our MAXs can drop quickly down stair wells onto the attackers, before escaping back up to their perches. Also, being high up gives the attacking technophobes with their lob weapons a greater disadvantage (than just being low down), as they will have to aim precisely to be effective. NC bases I agree should be mostly underground, and compact, with lots of twisting coridors to represent their close quarters fighting style, as well as their rebel background (yes the VS are rebels too, but with their advanced technology they have quickly built up their once secret bases into the skies). The Ancient Vanu buildings I would like to be completely seperate, possibly having human terminals and spawn tubes built inside them to accomodate the humans, perhaps with ziplines and teleporters we see down in the caverns presently.

notice the large vehicle door that took some time, as well as the flag :) other than that its just to give you an idea of the STRUCTURE. (normoly there would be ALOT of trees surrounding it to hide it from the evil Terrans/mad scientists :D ![]()
