I look to Martyr and Trig to make sure my concepts are at least plausible or remotely interesting.

Everyone is free to comment on the ideas though, to tell me what they'd like or what they'd hate to see in such a game. I will of course politely decline to use lasers and or warpdrive in the game design. :P

I am an experienced pilot (since 1997) in the most realistic simulators,
(Aircrafts/Military Fighters/Spacecrafts), with ratings in IFR, NAV, space operations.

From what I did read on this site,
your project is exactly what I have been searching for 2 years:
A Realistic (Physics and dynamics) online space simulator template.

All those I have visited are only 2 dimensions or have "marine" physics rather than space, even without gravity...

For several years, the ORBITER addon modelers community has been working on ways of linking Orbiter users together via the internet. And it seams the slight delays are introducing major errors in the data accuracy (vessels position, trajectory, etc.). We are talking about Real physics and dynamics here. I am not aware of any Server Based attempts, though.

The experienced and honest (meaning not utilising time acceleration or direct positionning) "virtual" pilots and space operators are not many. And the Deep-space vessels operators (inter-solar systems) or commanders are even less numbered. Simply because space navigation and operations are extremely demmanding. Those who enjoy these activities are really dedicated.


Considering the above, I think a level of "armed defenses systems" could certainly bring an interesting dimension into space, as long as the entire template remains realistic (physics and dynamics).

On the other hand, unknown space body data monitoring, specific particular singularities, mining, gathering resounrces and resupplying would be the main interesting activities. Defending a re-supplying cargo ship can be very stimulating too.

I will be monitoring develpments here.
