Yeah heh at some point. Probably on KOTR TS i think. Only other one i dabbled with was TTA.

*whew* heh just got back from robotics mentoring teachin my kiddies 3D modeling/animation and programming.

This thing looked intimidating but it was a as soft as a lil' cuddly kitty when I got into it lol, even UV'ing it was easier than the last one :o



The way I think about the internet is as follows... If I need something, I either make it, or I take it from someone else. Right now the kind of relationship I have with SOE and Planetside is a give and take relationship. I give them $14/mo, I make models and give them to the community, and I take their textures. And I'll probably get banned for it like last time. But its not going to matter when I publish my meshes is it?

Umm, I just gave you all the offset data Oo you have the starting location of the DDS file...and its length.. Just start from the offset and grab X amount of bytes after it, then save that info to a name.dds file.

If I get bored tomorrow I'll see what I can come up with, also if someone gets me the texture, I haven't figured out how to get and individual texture out of the FAT yet once you've found it.

i was playing a bit with ur modle and the tex fits purfict, im still working with it to include all textuer on the gun, and les then 2 hours Wow i cant modle that fast.. Yet...

i only just relized how or atleast i think iget how t UV maping in 3D's Max works so im gonna mess around with that then i should be able to Poperly textuer the gun IF i can figure out extly whitch part of the gun is in the correct place lol

Awesome! ;D Another PS 3d modeling fan hahah. Rainin; Acer knows how to do it; or just find me on AIM or MSN and i'll uhh "Show you" how :P Since its illegal as all f*** to distribute them.

On another note :) I got the go-ahead from my art professors to spend my whole semester this year working on a 20 minute CGI short based on planetside; so I'm spending about 12 hours/week on it until june :)

100% procedural and mathematic in lightwave; and my TI-89 to work on some of the algo's while i'm not on my comps :P mostly for efficiency.

The landscape+sky +render takes about 12 seconds per frame on my 2.66ghz dual-core with no OC. When i kick it into render mode; and use some OpenGL hardware to accelerate some stuff it cuts it to about 2 seconds/frame because the grass calcs can be done with shaders. (Main proc running at 4.2ghz OC stable for big renders). I also run 4 different PC's between 2.4ghz and my 4.2ghz OC for rendering; all 32bit.

Lil' bit of time lapse for testing purposes; Indeo 5.1 codec.

Mmm they aren't really general heh; and I have the ability to "Paint" grass where I want it. Also, the grass isn't random there a seeder values I use as well to ensure that they're the same no matter how many times I render the series. Some 94 different parameters define the grass and I tweak all of them till its the way I want. I used about 900mb of JPG renders of that grassy scene to get it the way I wanted. The sky itself has about 40 parameters based on a bunch of stuff.. like atmosphere density, time of day, position to the star(s) casting the light, refraction, so on so forth.
