They will lose power and sink. All ships come with distance-related self-cloaking (simliar to enemy mines appearing as you approach), but they don't cloak other ships around them. This is to simulate hiding over the horizon. When an enemy or friendly approaches within a certain distance, the ship becomes visible to the eye. Landing Ship (vehicle transport - 3 heavy vehicles, seabourne spawn point, supply depot, 2 75mm, 1 20mm). Acts as a transport vessel and shore-based AMS with equipment terminals for spawned troops. Ship can carry up to 3 heavy vehicles. Terminals run off of NTU when not deployed in friendly territory. Instead of a cloaking field, the Landing Ship uses a BFR-type shield generator when deployed (fully stopped on shallows, ramp down, terminals activated), so the ship is visible on the shore, but can take a bit of pounding when deployed. Trunk space is less than a Supply Ship's. Supply Ship (NTU refueling of ships and port facilities, cargo transport, ship rearm and repair, no weapons). The Supply Ship is able to refuel and rearm while on the move (but not repair) so long it is moving at 2/3 speed, 33 kph. Vessel has a large trunk for carrying ships stores. Submarines have a self-activated cloaking field unless they surface. Carry anti-subsurface and anti-surface weaponry. No defense against air. Cruisers defend against air and surface targets. Also can attack land targets. One of their weapons is a cruise missile - a guided weapon with a long flight time - for surface targets such as ships and vehicles. Gunner can only fire one at a time. Also have ship versions of each empire's AA missile, and a 100mm ship cannon. No defense against submarines. Destroyers defend against sub-surface and AA targets, having torpedos and AA missiles. Also have a single 75mm gun for ship defense. Light Patrol Boat has a 12mm at the rear, and a 25mm on the front. Liferafts do not show up on enemy radar. This helps facilitate escape, but also allows for infiltration as the liferaft will cloak if the pilot is wearing an infiltration suit. If deployed from a cloaked submarine, this ability is useful for infiltrating enemy shorelines or port facilities. Must own both to let ships pass through or they have to sail all the way around long narrow island). SWEET idea. I know, it's 3 years old and not likely to occur anytime soon.
However, this would probably require all of the continents to be back on one planet, like PS was originally. |
