Not sure if this should be here or feedback, but I (Running IE, too lazy to change) cannot register a new user for the Wiki...I've been helping out as much as I can but I'd really like to be a registered submitter...the registration page comes up with the log-in area, then a small empty space...then the text saying "Fields marked w/ * are optional...etc." and my IE toolbar says "Page contains Errors". Can someone help me, or fix this? I really jsut want to help...

Just to inform you, it's still not working on my computer...I'm running IE still so maybe it works on other browsers or something...

No, the wiki won't have a registration anymore. From now on you can login with the username and password from vBulletin.

I've been working on it a lot recently...its funally starting to work now...I think

http://comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/profile.php?do=editwiki

If you go to your user control panel here in comms, you should be able to see your wiki account status.

Click the "Edit Wiki Account" link in the control panel a few times and the board software will sort things out.

Eventually, it will probably break your account login. So, then you'll need to reset your password for the forums. That will sync your passwords between the Forums and the Wiki.

Thanks for that...I'm still trying to get it to work because it keeps telling me "comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/profiles" doesn't exist...gonna keep trying but this might be a bug...

alternate route would be to click on "user CP" right above the top http://comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/images/buttons/reply.png and find "edit wiki" on the left-side menu there. once you have that password set, clear out all your planetsidesyndicate cookies and re-log in to comms and wiki.

Ahh...I see my problem now, never cleaned cookies therefore it never reloaded...thx a lot for all the help.

EDIT: Ahh...still not working....I am on my schools comp. though so I'll try it at home...one thing I've noticed is that entering the new password for wiki and forum account takes me to a site which, if I add a ? to the end, is the default area for the profile (comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/profile.php if I add ? after .php I go back to normal forum user-cp area)...I sure hope it works at homecomp (PS: Sry to be such a bother, but I really want to register so I can help more)

that blank white page you see after setting the wiki password means the php script you executed has worked correctly. it appears to be part of the comms profile because it is actually a sub-page thereof. the wiki password configuration function is handled by our comms' control panel.

you may want to try resetting your Comms password to get things synchronized by going here: http://comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/login.php?do=lostpw

and then using the wiki password setter to set the same password for the wiki as the one you're using for the comms. then clear your syndicate cookies again and try logging in to both the comms and the wiki.

Okay...sry to continue to be such a pain...but here's my problem...I'm now on my home comp (which has about...oh >10x the ram of that one at school and is therefore able to load the usercp more than once :P) and I have reset my password twice, both times running through the wiki passowrd set thing...here's the exact steps I've taken

Step 1: Reset password using the link you have there

Step 2: Copy and paste password into edit wiki account password area

Step 3: Hit submit, then (after done displays and a slow count of 10) close all internet browsers

Step 4: Go into C:Documents and Settings/Jimmy the Cricket (yes, my sister set it and I'm to lazy to change it...)/local settings/temporary internet files and delete all internet files (cookies area is suspiciosly empty and search turns up no files with planetside in teh name at all (other than history, which I will clear on my next attempt))

Step 5: Re-open IE and immediatly go to planetsidesyndicate.com , click wiki link and attempt to enter username and password...fail and come to the comms, attempt to enter username and password...succeed

Step 6: try again...so far I've tried twice, I will be trying it once more (maybe twice) before I jsut give up for now and wait for a reply...please tell me what I'm doing wrong...

Wow, Binks, thanks for helping my out here. You've pointed out an issue I should have dealt with.

I found the error with your account. I'm afraid the tool I put together never would have helped you out. I'm glad you let me know, it pointed out a real problem.

I synced your accounts manually.

I really think you should be able to log into the wiki with your comms login info now.

Again, thanks for keeping on the issue. If it doesn't work next time you try, log onto my TS server and you can yell at me till I get it right.

Your account was created when I had some halfass integration in place, then I layed in the real integration and you wound up getting the first account smashed.

So, there are about ten others I need to fix....
