there's a trick to this, and an order - something i didn't quite expect.

there are some things to know, first.

the short version:
hit return twice to start a new paragraph - a blank line indicates a black line; one return won't do anything.

to put a link in, for keywords like "vanu sovereignty" or "agile armor" or "certifications" - simply put [[double brackets]] around the word to link.


how to get going:
register: http://wiki.planetsidesyndicate.com
then visit the following page, click on your weapon, and paste your text in, link whatever you need to, then save.
rinse repeat.

ok, I'm f'n beat. There is an entry for all of the pistols now, also i've reorganized the weapons page. If you don't like the changes, change it.

Just by looking, it seems that I've got the most experience with the Wiki format. If you need some help, please don't hesistate to ask. I've got my IMs on all the time.

I did the Pulsar, but looked around and saw that they're done quite differently in the pistols section, so should we stick to a standard in the way it's done? I won't add anymore until further notice.

Also, I'd like to more write up strategies than weapons.

I'm fine with doing weapons, good stuff, but writing on what to do on Gal drops, back door drops, gen holds, etc.

strategies will come in time, the game items are higher priority.

Hmm, those colors are nice, but we're missing alot of the text . . . are you done formatting text as well? I'm having a hard time seeing hotilinks in articles and whatnot.

haha, i'm a long long way away from completion with formatting.

we still have instances of white-on-white hyperlinks, where you have to highlight to see text, a lot of orange, incorrect page dimensions, even white backgrounds

I'll leave it to you guys to write it up the way you've been doing, as it's going to be a pain for me to put it in that format.

When we need strategy work..that's when I come into play.

Also, are you writing up the descriptions or ripping them off official site?

bloody right, originals.

rag: rahl's had some good ideas on strategy guides, including allowing people their own personal strategy areas, like "ragonastick's strategy guides" and "rahl's command axioms" and "martyr's suicide tips"
etc.; if we can manage it, we'll set it up so that they'll be editable only by the authors. if not, it'll be up to the authors to defend themselves against marauding, mean-spirited (or just lost and confused) editors.

i'm actually leaning towards the latter, because at least then the editors would be able to attend to grammar and spelling, provided that they understand they aren't to adjust the content.

we'll try some things soon, probably right around launchdate. i haven't decided whether before or after yet.
