Me: Yeah 12 people are trying out... 3 make it... so I've got a 1 in 4 chance, I guess.

My RA: I was never good at that whole numbers thing.

OFMG so dumb:

MarchingPanther3: When you have time...I would love it if you could type up a summary of the wx events from tonight (31 March). I just need enough info like rain intesity (heavy, moderate, light), hail (guess the size...don't use marble size) and any rotation that you could see.

Any other relevant information would be helpful...such as start and end times and any estimation of precipitation.

E-mail: marchingpanther@carolina.rr.com or marchingpanther3@yahoo.com

Thanks. Tim

<----- those guys are arguing on whether the computers in the COA 1st floor lab are "desktops" or "Towers".

Guy 1: "It's a desktop!"
Guy 2: "No you can flip it over, and then it'd be a tower."
Guy 1: "You can't flip it over, it's a desktop."
Guy 2: "No dumbass you can definitely flip it over, that's why it's a tower."

I just lost 3.9 x 10^6 braincells.

*edit*

and now they're both playing stress reliever... on two different computers.

I'm out.

More stupid crap from moron high schoolers that work for News 14 Carolina:

Keep it tuned to News14 Carolina for the latest updates today with Severe Weather. Should a Severe Thunderstorm Warning be issued, turn to News14 Carolina or here for the latest updates. Policy is live, uninterrupted weather until the warning expiers and the threat has passed.

Remember, your weather is never more than 10 minutes away with News14 Carolina (if the computer is working right).

Remember kids, you can get up-to-date weather information at anytime through the national oceanic and atmospheric administration at http://www.noaa.gov!

Local radio station gave a weather report that we had a 70% chance of rain today.

It was pouring down rain as I drove home from school when I heard this.

It turned out instead that we had 80 degrees and sunny.

In electromagnetic fields lecture talking about parabolic recievers (satellite dishes)

Professor: Older dishes as you probably have seen are mesh.

Stupid Guy: How does it maintain its shape?

Professor: What?

Stupid Guy: Doesn't it fall apart?

Me: It's not fish wire, chief. Pull your head of the hole you live in.

Professor laughs.

System Idle Processes

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok this little bastard it taking up 99% of my CPU and causeing PS to run at 8.7 frames and below. I have cleaned off my computer with spybot and PCCillin, both register no spyware/viruses. I tried a complete reboot and even did those xp tweeks that were posted here a couple of days ago.

So I ask all you guru's out there: What could possably be forcing System Idle Processes to be at 99% all the time?

EDIT: Forgot computer stats.

"what other systems (ancient or modern) have changed life so significantly for so many? How are those advances similar to computer technology?"

"A multimedia technologies have grown fast nowadays. people can be entertained or even helped by using a multimedia. a multimedia can be considered as computer, internet, tv, and all other electronic compliances. As the computer technology grows faster and faster, the multimedia follows after it. Now people use internet or home shoping programs to buy their needs. people chat and see each other by the internet at the same time. These advantages gave people a better life because of the new technologies of computer. as the developments of now technologies grow fast, the future of multimedia will be tremendous and unlimited"

"what other systems (ancient or modern) have changed life so significantly for so many? How are those advances similar to computer technology?"Although the airplane has only 100 years of history it changed our life so many ways. First it came out by wright brothers made up with woods and cloths. Before that fire, people would never have thought flying is possible.
Time goes by, modern airplane has the most useful technology for safety and performance. But without computer it would be impossible and because of the computer, people try to creat airplane without pilots. are our technology is almost there or more than that.

How do these people get accepted into college? I had to write an essay when I applied, shouldn't they have had to as well? And if they did, why were they accepted when they clearly lack the ability to form coherent sentences.

same q:
Automobile systems have significantly changed. take for instance the new BMW 7 series. The computer on that is extremely high tech, with navigation, voice recognition and even the hand "mouse" on the center arm rest. Automobiles have come along way.
Food producing has also changed. With the evolution of science, scientists are able to create different types of vegetables and fruits. They are also able to grow these when they are not in season giving us year round selection.
Our society is continually evolving, producing bigger and better systems to help us advance. These fields will continuously be advancing similarly to the computer field asisting us in our day to day activities.

BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER!

"What is GMR (http://www.research.ibm.com/research/gmr/basics.html)? How does it work? Why is this technology important?"Like all technology, over time it will develope. Becoming Faster, use less parts, and takes up less space. These are the characteristics of technology.
This is what we strive for. The computer is an always evolving tool, when you buy one, a newer, faster or better one takes it's place. Computers, though, are essential for human life as we know it.
The GMR is an essential part of the computer system. with out it the compiler couldn't function.
Technology advances with time, and with-out technology mankind would be at a great loss.
