Right, decided it was about time I got a new PC as this laptop, as good as it is, I think is dieing, it overheats all the time, crashes, stutters and I'm up to 3 vertical lines of dead pixels so far...
I went for:
Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad (the energy efficient one) 2.40GHz 8MB Cache
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro cooler
Antec TruePower Trio 650W PSU
2GB Corsair DDR2 800MHz/6400 RAM
500GB Samsung SATA2 HDD
Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard
EVGA nVidia 640MB 8800GTS Gfx Card
Samsung SH-S203B SATA DVD Drive
Vista Home Premium
Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard
Logitech G5 2007 Edition Laser Gaming Mouse
Aplus Xclio II Mid Tower Gaming Case - With Silent 250mm side Fan
19" Samsung monitor, possibly going to get another, not sure yet...
I don't spend money often, but when I do, I do the job properly :D
I've got quite a good record so far 2 builds (one full and one heavy upgrade) and nothing's gone wrong, yet...
Been running HL2, BF2 and Live for Speed, all on the highest graphics setting and all 3 run as smooth as anything. I rendered a 3D scene in MAX earlier just as a test, did it in just over 3 mins, I think it took about 20 on my laptop...
I get a 'Windows Experience Index' of 5.2, because of the RAM (not sure why though, 2GB of DDR2 800/6400...) the rest is: (all scores out of 5.9 as far as I can tell)
Processor - 5.9
RAM - 5.2
Graphics - 5.9
Gaming Graphics - 5.9
HDD - 5.8
So yay, well happy :D
