I'll probably get flamed but, ever notice how different PlanetSide weapons are similar to weapons in some SIFI movies? For example:

The MCG looks alot like the smartgun in Aliens. (Or at least is held the same way...)

Just like the Stormtrooper rifles were actually modified Britsh Sub Machineguns that were developed during WW2, that later replaced the Sten. (Sterling)

And Han Solo's blaster was a Mauser Broomhandle pistol.
