View Full Version : Slow forum scrolling
On this forum pages take unusually long to load and lags when scrolling down the page. Does this happen to anyone else? I'll check if it works better on subsilver layout.
Yea, I have this too. Its annoying :(
I don't notice anything?
Anyone else have this problem?

Its definately not going to stop me from whoring, but its just kind of a nuisance.
EDIT: BTW, I am using firefox(but who doesn't?).
Sorry, had to bump this- the slowness is driving me nuts. Anyone found a solution?
Is anyone else having trouble with the "view first unread post" option? I keep clicking it and ending up two pages before the last post was made.
I also know what you mean now about the slow loading - Martyr has been alerted to the problem and will probably fix it soon.

Does that happen to you? It has always happened to me on phpbb, no matter the forum? It goes to some wierd page that has all read posts for me. Goody about the slow-load problem though :). It isnt really loading, it loads fast, it just scrolls down the page lag-like. I don't know if they're the same thing.

I would have to agree.

Who me????
hmmm... i don't seem to have any trouble with load times or scrolling.
i'd usually be quick to point my finger at IE, since i know it can't render my multitude of .png images correctly... i'll look into it. do other parts of the site load slowly?
Nope. All of the home pages scroll fast - the few that are long enough to scrool ;)
most are wonderfully short, and that pleases me. anyway, that's something to work with. the real question, then, is: are you starting to scroll before your browser has loaded/rendered the entire page?
Nope the browser for sure has had enough time to load the entire page and says done in the bottom left.
hooray, then it's not my fault!

what's your video card?

I have no idea, so its probably really shitty. Thats why I was asking for the option of to use subsilver as a forum skin instead of it being this colorful one. Of course, PSU loaded fine and scrolled fine and this can't be any worse than that?
i have more pictures than psu v.3 - which used none in the layout.
i couldnt get by with no pictures, because i wanted this place, stupid as i am, to look like the comics.
hey, we all make mistakes.
anyway, best i can tell you is to upgrade your video drivers or use the keyboard to scroll. i think i deleted subsilver.
I know it has nothing to do with firefox.

Its more than likely your video drivers, its a common problem, on websites with lots of images if something video driver related has gone haywire.
Not sure if this will help but speed up your FireFox using the directions at http://forevergeek.com/open_source/make_firefox_faster.php
