Tactical Heavy Armour (no acronym....it sucks...) is armour used specifically for shock troops in base assaults, defence and gal drops.
Inventory: 1 normal rifle slot
1 HA slot
NO pistol slots (OMG)
Inventory size: 1.5 x REXO
Protection: 150 normal
350 when charged. (see below)
Speed:Slightly faster than REXO when charged
Same as REXO normally
Notes: Can only be bought in Sanctuary and Facilities. Capacitor starts 1/5 full when armour is bought
The Heavy Armour has a capacitor that needs to be charged by NTUs in order to fully function properly. Without a capacitor the Heavy armour:
a) Loses armour
b) Loses speed
c) Loses special abilities
Prerequisites: Heavy assault
Heavy assault merit qualification (?)
To charge the capacitor the Heavy Armour can:
a) Ride in a galaxy. The galaxy has special chargers for this.
b) Fill at an NTU silo (even an enemies).
c) Fill from an ANT.
d) Fill from a WG.
e) Fill up at sanc.
f) Get an emergency boost from engineers (there is a bar showing capacitor strength above his head)
The capacitor slowly runs out of juice over time. If the capacitor runs out it's current armour is reduced by 200 (if this takes it below 0 then the user takes stamina damage) and it loses all abilities etc. This gives the Heavy armour a vulnerability and makes it useless for outdoor combat. The capacitor on the armour enables the Heavy armour to make "stealth" gal drops meaning that they don't show on radar while dropping and don't leave trails. Also the Heavy armour can use it's inertia dampeners at any time meaning they can jump of mountains and base walls and float. The heavy armour has one weapon always in a holster space (a bit like a max) and this will always be a "pumped up" version of your ES HA weapon. This version will be pumped up in different ways depending on empire.
TR: Chainfed MCG for no reload. Also no COF bloom when taking damage.
NC: Heavy JH that counts as having both AP and 9mm with a slight decrease in reload time and bigger magazine(32).
VS: Mega lasher (needs a good name but i can't think of one) increase in lasher orb speed and magazine capacity (50). Slight buff to accuracy.
The other rifle slot is normal. This armour needs constant support from teammates but is more versatile than a MAX while still packing a punch.
Any input? Constructive criticism?
As a follow up to this idea i present ambush armour:
Protection: 100 with field off
0 with field on
Speed: Rexo with field off
Imobile with field on
Inventory: 2 Rifle slots
Rexo inventory
Notes: has a capacitor just like the heavy armour that needs to be charged manually in the sam way. Uses capacitor differently to heavy armour though in that it is only used when the user presses the 'b' key. The user crouches, becomes immobile, tightens his COF and becomes invisible in the manner of an AMS field (so it leaves a small bubble. The person in the bubble can look out however). The capacitor can keep the field up for 1 minute or until the user is damaged. Once the field is turned off it can not be turned on again until the capacitor is fully charged. If the user fires while they are in the bubble they "flicker" like a cloaker. This suit CANNOT pilot vehicles.
Special ops gal: This gal has 6 softie spaces and one gunning seat. It has a slight speed buff (+5 kmh?) and is invisible to radar.

Prerequisite= HA + Rexo OR uni-max
Meybe needs a merit? not sure on this one...
Ambush armour= 2 certs
prerequisite= MA + infiltration suit

gonna work on some sketches for the heavy armour. (I won't even try to use any kind of graphics programs as i suck.) May be a while until they are posted as i need to use someone elses scanner.

Awesome. For the ambush armor I'd say make it cert required and the heavy I'd make it a merit one... ;)
What about super armor that has to be charged in that beam of light down in the caverns? Ya know the one you 'imprint' on for BFRs? That'd be awesome. :) Keep up the good work.

EDIT:- Right how about this:
When you get GOLD MAX operator merit (OR alternatively get a cavern fighting merit. See here (http://comms.planetsidesyndicate.com/showthread.php?t=1419)) and have the imprint ability available you may purchase a Special cert (AT UNI MAX for 1 cert point) to get these special types of MAX armour.
Ancient tech MAX:-
Armour: 400 normal
750 charged
Speed: Auto run - As MAX auto run
Normal - As MAX uncharged, slightly faster when charged (but still slower than rexo)
Weaponry: Either Dual Lancer
Guass blaster
OR Heavy Chaingun (all common pool).
Special abilities: The MAXes don't have the usual abilities of their empire. They have several extra abilities to make up for this:
Armour recharge: The armour recharges over time if the user crouches. (The
AT MAX can crouch btw ;) ).
Zero Grav drive: The Max can leap extraordinarily high. This is a bit like the VS MAXes ability. (Activated by pressing jump.)
Void shield: This creates a BFR like shield around the MAX and nearby troops. This can take 200 damage. The MAX cannot shoot during this time or for 5 secs after. This is like the NC MAXes ability. (This is used by pressing B)
Lock down: The MAX crouches and it's weapons accuracy doubles and it shoots slightly faster. (This is like the TR MAX and is used by crouching normally however the MAX cannot move while crouched.)
Weapons: Dual lancer: These are two slightly slower firing lancers. They are slightly less accurate but pack a punch. A secondary mode makes them like dual pulsars but alot less accurate.
Guass blaster: This weapon can puncture through BFR armour readily. The projectile ignores the shield and does 2/3s of a decis damage in each shot. It can be fired like a vanguards chaingun in secondary (2/3 damage).
Heavy chaingun: This is like the TR MCG but ALOT faster firing with a short range. It shoots apart infantry amazingly fast in close quarter combat. It can fire a magazine charged with AP energy in 2ndry.
This is all good BUT there is a problem. If the capacitor is drained fully the MAX unit starts to drain armour. The capacitor is drained when the unit fires weapons uses a shield or uses the zero grav drive. The armour can be used as a capacitor in bad situations but it deteriorates quickely.
Also the users abilities start to wear off after 23 hours of imprinting. This means the user can't use the MAX suit after 24 hours. The users ability to use an AT MAX is returned if they REIMPRINT in the core (They don't have to get X kills or whatever they just have to sit in the core beam in an uncharged AT MAX). If the user is still in a MAX after 23 hours after last imprinting they will get warnings to deconstrust the suit. If they don't change their armour the suits armour will slowly drain, the capacitor will not charge and they will start to slow down. If they are STILL in after the 24 hour mark the armour locks down and can't move for a few seconds then explodes in a massive blast. Ouch.

I think that's a little too strong. I would recommend focusing on just the abilities that current ancient weapons seem to rather than including the abilities of all the empires in it. ie. Energy weapon (I'd make the weapon either akin to the Maelstrum or the Switchblade). And, I'd give it shields too... but, that still might be overpowered. Dunno. :)

The weapon is a degraded version of the AT turret and drains 1 capacitor unit per shot, but is fairly powerful. And its all curvy and shiny with anti-grav holding it together.

I think making a common pool MAX that utalizes AT would be a gould idea. Too overpowered though. Try making it more vunerable to explosives than a regular MAX. However, on the upside, it would fire ammo similar to the Switchblades.

Heh heh. Yeah it would be hilarious to see. Imagine going LD though in the middle of a cramped corrridor for ages though.......

How about air drop armour? Basically a rexo armour with agile defence that leaves no trail and gives you better freedom of movement when falling. Not something big but.....

Yeah, but I am promoting the idea. I'm not taking it as my own. If anyone would have asked I would have said: no I think someone thought of that already. If I can pursuade my dad to let me use his scanner, I might post some concepts I have lying around somewere.
