Ah, ok, and I've never really talked to Rahl, but I've seen him post a few times and I never understood what a kernel was so I thought I'd ask him, since I hoped he would read through his thread.

A Kernel is the core of an Operating System. Its responsible for managing the hardware, memory network IO, disk IO and for deciding which process to run at what time and for how long. Its a part you never see, but that is the true core of a computer.

I got that title because I rebooted the server syndicate runs on to upgrade the Kernel. I think I messed up some work martyr was doing. Oops.
