This is sort of a re-hash from an older idea that Moonflare came up with, but I have expanded and included more stuff.

Its a proposal for merits on an outfit level. These merits are not worn on uniforms, however they could be available for viewing through the outfit window and on the planetside website. Additionally, they could be tied to the proposed "outfit credit" system that allows outfits to gain currency to upgrade their bases, as per mine and Hayoo's threads about outfit owned bases. They may also be displayed on outfit-driven vehicles (if graphics engine permit).

There are two types of merits that I am proposing: Summation and Active merits.

Summation Merits: These are awarded for an outfit reaching a certain number of outfit points, outfit kills, number of members, number of CR5's in its ranks, number of BR23 characters, etc. I believe that having several different progressions like the normal merits (qualifier, bronze, silver, gold, platinum) will work very effectively. The lower level merits should be accessible to smaller outfits easily, and the upper level merits should be accessible by an outfit that has a member activity of about 50 people per month over a time-span of a year. Unlike the individual merits, I would make these outfit merits retroactive, so that if an outfit already meets the qualifications, they will get some of the merits. I realize that some outfits like D2A and 666th Devil Dogs will probalby already qualify for most of these, but that is what the active merits are fore. Some suggested values:

1. Outfit Points Merit
Qualifier: 100,000
Bronze: 500,000
Silver: 1,000,000
Gold: 2,500,000
Platinum: 5,000,000

2. Outfit Kills Merit
Qualifier: 10,000
Bronze: 50,000
Silver: 150,000
Gold: 500,000
Platinum: 1,000,000

3. Standing Force Merit (number of members)
Qualifier: 50
Bronze: 250
Silver: 500
Gold: 750
Platinum: 1,000

4. Outfit Commanding Merit (number of members who are CR5s)
Qualifier: 2
Bronze: 7
Silver: 10
Gold: 15
Platinum: 25

5. Outfit Skilled Soldier Merit (Number of members who are BR23)
Qualifier: 5
Bronze: 10
Silver: 15
Gold: 25
Platinum: 50

6. Outfit Specialization Merits: This is a unique idea that is based off of conventional infantry merits. Basically, when a certain number of people in an outfit get a certain level of merit, the outfit gets a similar merit. For example:

Standard Assault Merit:
Qualifier: 50 people
Bronze: 25 people
Silver: 10 people
Gold: 10 people
Platinum: 10 people
The outfit would get a recognition for having a number of its people all achieve the same level of merit. For example, when 25 people in the outfit achieve the Standard Assault Bronze, the outfit would get a Standard Assault Outfit Bronze Merit, to be placed in its list of merits. The same could be applied to every merit that is in the game, both current and future. The only additional coding besides the graphics and interface would be a counter of people in the outfit with certain merits (which I dont think would be too difficult). Since the difficulty of each merit is based on its own data, every merit level can have the same number of people needed (scale for standard assault, heavy assault, sniping, tank busting is the same), since the difficulty is in individual troops getting the merits.

Given this system, KAAOS would get the BFR Buster Outfit Qualifier Merit, lol.

The day a BFR Buster Outfit Platinum merit would be awarded would be a scary day...

Well, its there as a way to try and equalize big outfits and small outfits. an outfit of 20 people that all work toward one specialized merit should get just as much reccomendation as a big outfit for this. I dont want to penalize small outfits. And, of course, that means some outfits will get some merits immediately, I realize taht, but you cant please everyone all the time.

That would mean my Outfit, the 666th would get almost all Merits at once...bah :(

Still love the idea though, should also implement a Merit Pad on the other arm to display only Outfit Merits, so other people can see how well your Outfit is doing :)

That seems to favor large outfits... I mean when you have one of those spam outfits that has over 200 members, surely at least 20 of them will have a certain merit. I think it should be a percentage of the members, that would make outfits more.. selective.
