if you haven't heard, yahoo's suing xfire for patent infringement, which sounds pretty bogus. and while we're all pretty comfortable with america being a litigous society, this kind of corporate bullying is disgusting. at least microsoft has the heart to buy out the competitor or openly compete with them.
their stance is that a former yahoo employee has been working on xfire, and they allege that he's used industry secrets and sampled them into xfire's code.
the kicker is that xfire has offered to show yahoo their entire source for review, and yahoo is proceeding with the suit anyway.
i might actually send a paper letter (spam) to yahoo and speak my mind about it. and i'm certainly not using y! anymore. jerks.
