after reveiwing hayoo's Outfit HQ's i thought this up
-outfit works hard and gets alot of outfit points
-when 10'00 points are gained they get an emblem
-they can make a base
(NEW) (piolet)- the outfit can purchase state of the art technology to upgrade their vehicles.
-for most vehicles there are several levels of upgrades i.e.
1. Galixy (default)
2. Gunship Galixy
3. Transport Galixy
4. Spec op. Galixy
(note you PURCHASE the technology so you LOSE the points)
(note you dont lose points every time you purchase the vehicle)

1.Galaxy (Default)
2.Gunship galaxy- a 4 passenger (no maxes or vehicles) galixy with custimizeble gun slots. similar to an AC-130
3.Transport galaxy- very little armor no side guns, can hold 10 infantry and 2 maxes,
4. spec op.galaxy- modified engines increse speed by 15% but make moterbike sound, custimizeble gun slots and a 10% armor Bonus
(they have different paint schemes
-NC- Black (Main) Gold stripes (secondary)
-TR- Black (Main)
-VS- (painted to blend in with most skydomes)

2.Urban Vangard- weapons modofied to fit a close-quarters battle
rotery chaingun
3. Artillery vangard-opposite of urban vangard. a 5mm turret is not very powerful but the main gun has been upgraded to fire over 3 km with laze pointer support.

1.Prowler (default)
2.Light prowler- armor is lowered by 15% but speed is incresed by 10 kp/h
3.Spec op. prowler- 2 more positions are in the back which allows for 2 15mm side gunners (speed is decresed by 15% because of lost engine space :( )

1.Magrider (default)
2.Rocket Magrider- (as seen in extra sketches thread) turret rplaced with MLRS style turret that shoots hundreds anti-infantry needles over along sistance in just a few seconds. VS veterans will love this WMD (PPA damage decreased for balance reasons)
3. magrider .2 -fully custimizeble avalible weapons is a turret with 4 PPA's, a pulsar like "super-turret" and a deul flux pod launcher

1.Harrasser (default)
2. Multi-purpose harrasser- drive up to vehicle silo put almost anything you can imagine on top drive away... kick some <bleep> (very expensive upgrade)(because of all the turret possibillities)

Outfit vehicles sounds interesting. But a few questions

1.What happens if the outfit disbands?

2, where would an outfit leader buy this state of the art tech?

3.would there later be empire specific upgrades?

3.Empire Specific Tech Upgrades

Some examples, (not all)

VS

Small vehicles like buggies and ATVs can be upgraded with hover technology, making them faster, and able to move over water. Further upgrades make it faster.

The thresher's passenger gun could be upgraded to two barrels firing alternately, which is faster but uses more ammo.

One upgrade adds a firing mode to the mag-rider with an arc, for artillary bombardment purposes

NC

The Fury ATV can be upgraded to fire either homing rockets (sparrow), or guided rockets (pheonix) (two different upgrades, but one overrides the other)

The Thunderer can be upgraded with flak cannons, much like the TR flak max's weapons, only slower firing speed.

The Vanguard can be upgraded to fire an anti-infantry shell, which is basically a very powerful frag grenade. Or it can be upgraded to fire an anti-vehicle shell, which lowers the damage of the shell slightly, but shell impact triggers an EMP, much like a jammer grenade with a weakened effect.

TR

A pair of upgrades for the galaxy,

1st level: 1 passenger spot becomes a flak-gunner seat, same FoV as side gunner
2nd level: 2 passengers spots, one on each side, become flak-gunner seats

Maruader can be upgraded to to having 3 barrels for its ground pounder cannon on back, Which fire at a much higher rate, but also take ammo up much much faster

The prowlers's two main cannons can be exchanged for an artillary cannon, but to use them well, the pilot must anchor the vehicle to the ground. Unlike the flail however, the prowler cannot use waypoints to mark the spot, the gunner must be in contact with a scout, who can tell it whether they are hitting close to the mark or not.


Common pool upgrades

ATVs can deploy, much like the switchblade into mini-turrets.
(Wraiths deploy into aiming stations, but I'll get into those in a sec)

Trunk space of all vehicles can be enlarged, (this is a must, if you get extra weapons upgrades)

Submersible transports
All deliverer and deliverer variants (thunderer Aurora) can now temporarily sink below the surface of the water, to avoid detection by aircraft. While in deep water, the driver just presses and holds the special ability button, and the vehicle will begin to sink. When the button is released, the vehicle floats back to the surface. Gunners can't fire while underwater. Once underwater, an oxygen meter appears on the drivers UI, telling him how much air the entire vessel has left. Because it is airtight, a transport can stay underwater without harm for about 5 minutes straight. But anymore then that, and it will sink to the bottom, and the driver will lose control.

Wraiths deploying into aiming stations
An aiming station is simply put, a small seat that helps you aim. Best used for a bolt driver or a decimator, this is a nothing more then a small seat that speeds up the aiming process by steadying your arm, on various weapons, such as the bolt driver, the maximum scope range is increased while using an Aim station.

just trying to make it look like I'm not too biased, since I'm NC B) NC RULES! :D
I'll think of some more for NC in a bit though,
but I thought that the shell upgrades kinda balanced it out, since with the EMP shell upgrade, a vanguard could take down an unskilled BFR pilot by itself.

for the aiming station
Well, in concept, what you would do is after using the special ability button to deploy the wraith, you would get out of the vehicle and place the weapon of choice (bolt driver, decimator) With room for extra rounds, (the aiming station automatically reloads, somewhat faster then normal) In a trunk-like area,

Or it could go in another order. You place the weapon and ammo in the trunk before deploying, then when you deploy, everything is already set up for you,

When it is deployed, it acts as a mini-turret, so you can get in and out of it by pressing G but it uses the gun that u placed in the trunk. Since the aiming station holds the gun for you, there is no chance of little mouse spasms knocking the gun off target, because it gives some resistance to movement, ( to make reaiming easier) When you press the special ability button again, the station will undeploy back into the wraith, with everything that was left, (gun, ammo, anything you didn't use) in the trunk again.

1. folding stock- (can store in smaller area)
2. anti-jamming chanber- (fires faster)
and of course high tech ammo

how about if the devs ever decide to have mercy on our tormented souls and implement this, they completly reset all outfits outfit points. That way, the 666th devil dogs can't buy everything right from the start. And every outfit starts out equal in that sense,

cause really, what are outfits points used for anyway?

Outfit armor sounds cool, but I think we need more decals, so almost every outfit has the same decals.

If anybody else here wont give it a try, I'll give it a shot, but I warn you, it wont be pretty

I think they should base outfit points off of how much BEP, CEP your outfit gains as a squad, where if your in a squad/platoon where one of the leaders is in your outfit, you gain OP...that way you can't have huge outfits like 666th completely wiping out the competition, they've still got SOMETHING they have to do...

you really don't need a system to make an outfit alliance...but it helps. My outfit is currently allied with too others in what we call the NCA or (NC Alliance)...It consists of Forgotten Soldiers, Super Troopers, and NCX. Many outfits want to join like d2a...but we already have a full platoon + a squad each alliance night...so it gets extremely hard to coordinate.

the spread is almost non-existant, refire time sucks though

mode 2. Riot-gun spread
Spread is extremly large, making it good for taking down masses of troops
refire time is the best of all 5 modes.

TR
Portable pivotal anchor pad.
This looks a bit like a large skateboard that combat engineers can set up. It allows the TR maxes to have full pivotal motion while anchored, (they can rotate 360 degrees while on one of these while anchored)
To get on it, just step onto it, and anchor.

Different ammo for the pounder max,
1. Jammer nades
2. Frag nades
3. Plasma Nades

each one its own upgrade, and each one its own firing mode, but also, each has its own box type.

i had the idea of a thumper max, noone liked it, but giving it only to the TR sounds better, why not upgrade the hand grenades while mwe are at it, (give a person a reason to use it)

hmmm..... for VS how about improved AT weapons as a "bonus" ?
for the lasher a more accurate single shot mode,

for the pulsar a good scope and as for AT weapon upgrades a mailstrom (spelling)
a Crayn colored chainlash that cones out and effects a bigger amount of people.

Heres an Idea

VS
Maxes get a hoverjump, which lets them hover right over the ground much like a thresher or a mag-rider, but they can use it to travel over water. Uses the max capacitor. They also move pretty fast while using it, but they cannot fire.

hmm. the only other thing that comes to mind is an entirely new max which uses the maelstrom projectiles and firing modes, And it can also fire those whip/lash nades that I never see the effect of.

Common pool stuff

Lockdown Upgrade

Allows Maxes to anchor themselves onto the outside of vehicles. Like you could set yourself onto a sunderer and then be the anti-air defense. Can't anchor onto air vehicles, the air pressure is too powerful.

Airtight armor Upgrade

Allows the MAX suite wearer to stay underwater for far longer then without it, up to 15 minutes total before the oxygen runs out.


(That idea works if the VS suite is modified to not be able to jumpjet while underwater)

and one of my favorites, Each side gets a max that is customizable like a bfr

TR get the Roller

NC get the Garand

VS get the Trekkie (I don't know, its too late at night to think of better names )

each of these maxes can get much of their bodies customized from what kinds of armor they can use, what weapons (both arms can be different) as well as their leg type.

TR get treads, they can move the same speed over anything, including while underwater

NC get cleated boots (boots with large spikes in them good for climing up hills)
they can almost walk up walls with these things

VS get hover , which looks like a max standing on a manhole, but the manhole is hovering right above the ground. It can move fairly quicker then any other max,
and can travel over water

hoverjump can be a replacment for run mode sounds like a good idea.

maelstrom-like MAX = Uber + unbalenced + hate tells

lockdown mode. (i've always wanted to do that) sounds good. let me get this straight you can only use this on MAX supportive vehicles like the sundy & gal ( get back to me on that)

airtight mode, 15 miniuts is a bit long. but overall good concept, i would suppose this would be good for ambushes

i'm way in favor of custimizeble MAXes, hnoestly , treads is going a bit far. why not a regular Blank MAX

actually I changed the name to the Hopper

New common weapons and upgrades
variants for customizable maxes and BFRs

1. 1 extra seat on the gunner BFR variant for all empires
, located on the bottom of the bfr, there is a bubble seat much like the rear gunner on a liberator. Uses either a 20mm minigun, without a large field of fire,
meant for taking out those pesky cloakers who hit you over and over with jammers

2. 2 extra seats on the gunner bfr, for all empires
Two bubble seats located on the right and left side of the BFR, again like a liberator tail gunner. Only can use 20mm chainguns, and are for anti infantry defense when the gunner and pilot are occupied.

using these two greatly decreases the amount of xp given to all the passengers, pilot included, so there is a hefty penalty.

Both upgrades override eachother, so you can't have 3 extra seats, or maybe that should be level 3 of the upgrade

And my personal favorite

the BFR Self-destruct function

no, not deconstruct, destruct, and BFRs have a big arse nuclear engine. so not only would this kill you, but everything else not inside or in a bfr for about the square area of 3 bases put together. makes the OS look pathetic. A downside is that only CR5s can do it, and doing it forfeits your ability to get a bfr for about 3 days. Which is to keep people from self destructing right as they are about to die. They also get no xp for any deaths from the blast.

Piolet, you're making PS sound too tribal. in ur opening post u said outfits would purchase state of the art technolgy..from whom? Their Empire? Well all outfits would have the technology, and indeed every member of that Empire, because it's a war between 3 empires, not countless hundreds of outfits with different levels of tech. If the empire got some advanced tech, it wouldn't sell it to the highest bidder outfit, but disperse it to every empire member for the good of the war effort. B)

I mean for the run for the guns event, the empire that fufilled the most of a number of conditions got a bonus,

So, for example, would the empires with the most kills/base captures in a week win something for a year, something really small, like an extremely small running speed bonus or something?

It can't be the empire with the least losses because then no one would get on, and you can't kill a player who is logged off

I think instead of "purchasing rare tech from the empire", the outfit(s) who aquire the greatest number of outfit points weekly will be worthy of the "rare new tech". If the tech is rare, and the empire can't give it to every empire member, then it will disperse the tech amongst the most skilled and whom are gonna maximise the use of it to its full potential. B)

ok, alter my statement 1 of 2 ways.

1. do it on a montly or bi-monthly scale

or

2. do it on a weekly scale but keep the same tech, so first week, outfit A gets tech A, next week outfit A slacks and outfit B wins get's the most points, so then outfit B get's tech A. U don't have to introduce new tech each week, otherwise the game would be swamped in supifluous geekchic gadgets :lol: just give the tech to different outfits each week or the same outfit, depending on points. occasionally add in new tech

Because we can't make PS into a guild warfare game. There are 3 empires all fighting each other, any tech they get their grubby mits on they will give to everyone in the empire to win! and if there is a limited supply of the tech, they will give it to the best vet's/outfits in their empire.

I wouldn't mind seeing some outfit-specific BFRs somewhere down the road, though.

Now I know what people are thinking when I say that, but to set a fair example to other outfits, they wouldn't be hackable and would only accomodate the weaponry of their primary empire. Since we will be starting to use Merit Commendations soon, the outfit-BFRs could be based on a principle of deducting the amount of outfit points earned since they began in PlanetSide, while kills and captures would allow clans to regain those outfit-points.

They would also be upgradeable over time (depending on their use in game-events) but would all follow a generic template of the number of equipment and weapons that could be mounted on them, so no matter where the weaponry/modules were positioned, there would still be a limit as there is inherent in all conventional BFRs.

i.e. (note some may be camo but still have at least 25% of the empires colors :) )
Urban scheme (awsome grey black)
Winter scheme (standered white/grey *yawn* )
Desert Scheme ( UBER CONFLICT DESERT STORM!!! *yawn*)
parade scheme ( VERY DECORATIVE shows pride and a sense of no fear good for the C4loaded Eagle jumping into a VS base with the pilots hand on the detonator! :) )

I'm like the idea of a Parade Scheme, it would be like each empire would have a special dresscode for vehicles and BFRs they could use post-victory to brag about towards other empires (e.g., a "we kicked your asses and you know it" kinda thing).

VS BFR weapon.

Neroc

Gunner weapon only

Primary mode
Fires a small continual spray of plasma at target area, Think of a flamethrower that uses plasma. Range is small, and it only effects infantry. But is uber verses infantry.
Secondary mode
When it lands on surfaces, it leaves a radioactive residue, that lasts for around 10 seconds before wearing off. Its like being able to create your own temporary pain zone. But it only lasts for 10 seconds at the most.


Its gunner only so that the pilot can't fly around spraying people with it. Cause primary does 3 times what a plasma 'nade does to people, not including continual spraying damage.

If they could make it a fog-maker dynamic, that would ease the strain on the graphics engine, Either that or a spray of the same animation/graphic that the plasma nade uses when it detonates.

and stuff that it sprays in secondary mode is tinted green for 10 seconds, to warn the enemy that its there

Maybe it could even be common-pool
I just made it VS so it wouldn't seem biased.

I have so much for NC, but they would make anything the other two empires had look like peashooters, so too unbalanced

1.HOW THE HELL CAN YOU DRAW SUCH AWESOME STUFF ON ALREADY DRAWN PICTURES?!

2. the vanguard's camaflauge really doeesn't cover up the thing that makes it NC (ie the blue and yellow) as it is now, its little more then a decoration as it really wont affect visibility in combat.

Maybe a sky-colored camo pain job

cause the only time an aircraft camo job is going to come in handy is when it is on the ground.

A normal camo job for an aircraft will do nothing more then make it easier to see in the air. so why not a light pinkish (or whatever the sky color is)

Or a chameleon paintjob. It adapts its paint job to whats around you. If your in the air
you are sky-colored, on the ground, you are the color of the ground

2. yeah, it doesent hide it much, but adding any more camo will make it hard to tell which faction its from.
