with this recent patch, during grief lock you can heal & repair.
1.-----Community service-- this is where you can repair things to lose grief points,
-----Repair chart-----
Equipment term- -15 grief
Medical term(or adv.) -10 grief
vehicle term-- -25 grief
BFR term-- - 30 grief
spawn tube-- -50 grief (each)
Genorator-- -80 grief (or smaller portians if others are helping :) )
2.-----Helping the elderly--this is where you can help actual people, by repairing armor and vehicles, or reviving or healing someone.
-----Medical and repair-----
every 5 points HEALED will take away 3 greif
every 5 points REPAIRED (armor) will take away 2 greif
every 10 points REPAIRED (vehicle) will subtract 7 greif

ok, i was in a base and this guy was shooting at a BFR the BFR was nearly dead i started to shoot him but a shot hit the BFR and i got grief lock! :o
