Imagine
A small Elite tr spec ops squad armed with 5 duel cyclers a hacker & 4 Elites.
The cloaker goes over a hill to scout 10 vangards sit there with a mosquito is patroling the area. the Mosquito turns around and quikly incinerates cloaker bob, the maxes pull back it was too late the vangards came over the hill, and killed the maxes with its mighty 150mm cannon, the nc cloakers come out from the tree's and begin hacking the duel cyclers they finish hacking and crawl into the blue and gold killing machines.
what if planetside were like this o.k. to even it out imagine 10 TR comets mowing down vangard formations.
what i'm trying to say is well if you can mess with a vehicle's computer and change its paint scheam why cant you do it to a MAX also what if you could shed your max armor and automaticly be naked (term for standered exosuit) (planetside isent ready for that) to manuver more or get out of helpless sits or if you see another empires max armor on the ground.
first: you need the cert to use a enemy MAX armor
second you (or a freind) need to have adv hacking
third: you need to be in a standered exosuit/ infiltration suit
fourth: the max needs to be DEAD
when you are in a max and you die your max armor will stay on the ground for 10 minuts(you guys can help find a better time) sheding your armor is as easy as deleting ammo just press the "shed MAX armor butten next to "destroy" butten on inventory window. i think i covered it all.
Being able to hack armors is an idea I would like, also i belive you should be able to matrix stolen armors (something like 8x12 so you cant have more than 4) This would give a reason to loot dead maxes from other empires as well.
Good idea, but, make sure that they come out in standard armor WITHOUT a rek, so maxes still don't have hacking capabilities.

I like the matrix.
Basically, you can "pick up" the max suit if its next to you and your locker is open, and then matrix its design into the locker for later (One Time per Suit) use.

If you could capture and save even more enemy gear, then the lines between Empires would start to blur. However, if we were to place certain limits on capture and saving, then a sort of trade economy could develop. One Gauss Rifle is worth two beamers. Two Marauders in exchange for a Magrider. If the item is in short supply, players from opposing Empires might meet clandestinely in remote areas and trade equipment and vehicles. Imagine a squad of NC facing a squad of VS, with the SL's standing in front of eachother, arguing over prices. To prevent a doublecross, each side would be ready to call for reinforcements, would carry only common pool weapons, and would put the items to be traded in the trunks of aircraft for quick escapes.
Thats why i put the limit at 4 suits, that and thier taking up ALOT of valuable inventory. Also, I think if they did have vehicle garages, it should be a 1-2 vech maximum

bringing this back up,
i think when you shed your max you should have a choice

you can also overlap the standered exosoit/infil box with max ammo apcept when you shed you only have ammo
so what i'm trying to say is you dont lose any space just if you want too

All for being able to get out of MAXes. Maybe even have them hang around for a while and be able to get back in, too.
Sounds like a great idea but I see one problem; Usually when a MAX is killed, they have little to no armour left. What's the point of ditching your cloaking ability to be a slow MAX with no protection? Of course there are exceptions (Radiator) to this but all in all, it's rare to find a dead MAX in with good AP left.
Though it could work if you could repair them before getting in...
You can repare them before getting back in cant you, my m8 always repairs ther Max, and then Rez's it. so the max comes up with full health and full armor.

I have never seen that many ideas on MAXs, and to tell you the truth, no one has ever really argued a good point on how MAX basics work.
If it ain't broke, dont fix it.

How about a compromise? As was said, you can get out of your MAX through the button on the inv screen. The MAX can only be abandoned in areas where it does not block a doorway.
The user is suited in a "endoskeleton" jumpsuit for use within the MAX. The player can only use small (Supressor-proportioned) rifles and no pistols (so the player cannot heal himself and repair his MAX and hop right back in).
MAXes could be locked like vehicles, and would have a trunk, that would also be lockable. This way, MAXes could carry gear for their squads.
I would hardly call that a "redneck" reference, considering many military engineers swear by it.

maybe this is just some pride in my work but i could easily see this in-game
and about the standered exosuit it would NOT have armor
since wearing a bullitproof vest inside a tank a wate of armor.
and to help kill people who abandon their MAX's

I think you're saying you want Standard Armor to have no armor statistic, which I wouldn't be a big fan of. It would essentially be an infil suit with no cloaking ability.

People are satisfied with Standard Armor as it is. Nobody complains that it gives the user too much protection.
Why upset a balance that people are already satisfied with? Arbitrary balance changes make players mad.
Like I said, just let people in Standard board MAXes, or create a new endoskeleton for MAX use.

I say, make a new endo-suit with the following stats.
50 Armor
12x9 Inventory
1 Riffle Slot
1 Pistol Slot
Support Utilities cannot be placed anywhere on this armor (to prevent maxes that can hack or repair)
Footspeed between agile/standard.
Zero damage absorbtion.
Have it look similar to each empire's infil armor, but with more plating, and perhaps some nano tubing (think the wraith's texture) on the arms and legs for where the armor connects to the MAX.
Call it the MAX Internal Link Suit (MILS)
Now you can hop out and be almost as effective as an agile, but not quite.
Most important of all, the player cannot access the maxes inventory from outside, and the MAX cannot drop items from their armor. Both of these are further precaution against self healing/hacking maxes.

This I disagree with. I think MAXes should have a trunk that could be permission controlled. The user could also get out and access the trunk in his endo-suit for extra ammo or such.

Too much like the pounder, a grief machine. What about something for the snipers? A MAX with a sniper rifle on each arm that can fire a second after the other but require 5 seconds to reload, each have a clip of 5.

no, a sniper does not need that much armor, maxes are made to go in kill as much as possible and then die, repeat (after 4 min)
edit: well so are snipers,
i also think we should dukt-tape some BFR weapons to the maxes (minitures)

What about a MAX that has a shield that their own empire can fire through but it blocks all fire from enemies, excluding radiation and plasma. No offesive abilities on its own but would be able to make a "wall" to protect friendlies from the enemy in a base.
What about a MAX that has a barrel launcher, type of barrel will depend on empire, that could only fire when deployed. When it did it would fire a round cylinder that would roll either till it hits something (primary mode) or till a 15 second fuse burns out. It would be a form of indoor artillary. Ideas for empire based ammo: TR would have High Explosive charges, great for taking out other MAX's in a meduim radius but not so much Infintry; NC would have High Scatter charges, great for taking out infintry in a medium radius but not so much of MAX's; VS would have Lash charges, which would act like the lashes of the Lasher but would stretch out to a medium range hitting everything for 5 seconds and is not highly effective against anything but is still leathal all the same.

this idea has been used before i think it was "common pool support maxes"
the second idea i like it like a swat tem grenade launcher,
i have always supported the idea of a type of "handheld artillery" i made sketches of one to give to infantry but i thought noone would support it,

The idea of the shield MAX is that the shield only protects one side like half a dome. So the enemy could move around and take the MAX out from the sides. The MAX would have no weapons on it at all. The shield runs off of energy ammo in its invintory and operates like any other MAX's weapons, requiring reloading after a set time of use.

A good concept, as with most ideas it's already been suggested in part on forumside :P
Unfortunatly, whilst cool, the animations and implmentation of such a thing would never be undertaken by the devs :(
