New Cell Phone

I'm in the market for a new cell phone... I wanted to know if there are any Verizon users out there that could tell me about their phones.

I'm currently using a very piss poor LG TM510. It's on it's third battery... which has again died. Frankly I'm sick of dealing with it. I'm liking the new Kyocera SE47... but I don't know how good their cell phones are... anyone use it?

i like qualcomms. kyocera bought them, and i heard they went downhill after that...

but i loved my old one.

Not a big fan of Kyocera's stuff. I've had good luck with Nokias and Motorolas personally.

My problem with nokia is they aren't very compact.

I like compact to a point. These tiny ass phones that can easily be lost and or broken just don't work for me.

Point... verizon only carries one Nokia... they carry a lot of LGs... but I'm very hesitant to get another one with the way they just stopped making batteries and accessories for this one I have now.

I've heard that's a problem with LG's, but I've been beating the crap out of my phone since May and the only problem I've had with it is that I think the earpiece is going to shit.

But who cares, I never want to talk to the people who call me anyway.

Well... since my cell phone is also my watch... it kinda pisses me off that it doesn't work.

Verizon can lick my [personally censored]. I had their service for one year. I didn't have to pay for three of those months because my phone(s) would never receive phone calls. They were all different Nokia phones. Verizon tried to say I wasn't answering my phone properly, and that it wasn't on. I spent so much time talking to them, they gave me a month free...because the incoming calls would show up on my bill. Then it happened again....so another month free....then another month free... So, I said fuck you, I'm going to Alltel. Alltel is great up north, where it's prevalent. Down here in Flordia, if I didn't have Nationwide coverage and free long distance, I'd be screwed, as there are few Alltel towers down here. Plus, if your phone fucks up, you have to drive to Jacksonville or Ocala to get it fixed. I currently have a Motorola V60i. It serves it's purpose, doesn't have a fancy schmancy display, but it's compact, with great reception, great battery life, and very durable. The way I see it, my phone is for conversations and a watch. I don't need fancy ringtones, colors, backgrounds, screensavers, whatever.

My recommendation: Alltel. They're #1 in my book. Cingular and Verizon blow.

Sprint's pretty good - expensive, but with the whole "night minutes start at 7pm" and free nights and weekends, it's worth it.

i have alltel, and i dont like it...it could be my phone...the ancient Nokia

I used to have AT&T....and they SUCK

I'm happy with my AT&T. I crossed the country with them and had no problems except in South Dakota where there is no cell coverage at all for any provider. The only thing that bugs me about them is they keep asking me to sign another year long contract, and I just have no reason to. I have unlimited nights and weekends and 300 extra monthly anytime minutes indefinitely, so there's no reason for me to sign up. They think offering me $30 bucks off my next bill will tempt me. Poor fools.

Georgia has NO RECEPTION for Alltel, except near Atlanta. And Kentucky sucks too. Sprint is horrible. My brother has them and his calls are dropped all the time. They also have problems with their towers turning off, and their coverage area actually changes without notice, bringing ridiculous charges to his bill. However, anyone I know with Nextel is very pleased with their services. If I didn't have Alltel, I'd have Nextel.

I actually love Verizon... I never get booted and my call quality is usually great. My problem is simply the phones really...
